He also did early work on brain stem tumours and very large brain aneurysms (bulging blood vessels). He brought day-care and short-stay brain surgery to India. His skills include head injuries and surgery on brain blood vessels and aneurysms. He also operates on the skull base, brain and spine tumours, and nerves in the arms and legs. Other areas are complex skull surgery and keyhole brain surgery.
He holds an MBBS and an MS in General Surgery. His MCh in Neurosurgery is from AIIMS. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medical Sciences.
