Dr. Rajiv Yadav
About the Doctor
Dr. Rajiv Yadav treats problems of the kidneys, bladder and prostate, often with robotic surgery. He has more than 20 years of experience. At Artemis Hospital in Gurugram, India, he is Chairperson Urology. He is also Head, Urologic Oncology & Robotic Surgery (Unit I). His main focus is robot-assisted keyhole surgery for prostate, kidney and bladder cancer.
For prostate cancer, he removes the prostate robotically (radical prostatectomy). For kidney cancer, he removes all or part of the kidney. For bladder cancer, he removes the bladder and makes a new urine route. He also uses the robot to remove adrenal glands and to fix blocked kidney drainage (pyeloplasty). He does MRI-TRUS fusion biopsy, which combines MRI and ultrasound to sample the prostate. He also does endoscopic, keyhole and open operations. He leads a team skilled in complex urology surgery.
Both his MS (Surgery) and MCh (Urology) are from AIIMS, New Delhi. He then did fellowships in the USA. These covered urinary cancer and robotic surgery, and endo-urology and keyhole surgery. He has written over 100 scientific and invited articles. The American Urological Association gave him first prizes in 2008 and 2009. AIIMS gave him its Gold Medal for best outgoing urology resident.
